One important Course of study which has a very huge global potential of around 500,000 a year is missing. All Government funded constructions are audited as “Check & Balance”.This is solely done by Financial Accountants.Govt.constructions now, are huge,complex,done in several phases with complicated Contractual arrangements.The Financial Accountants do not have the knowledge,skill or expertise to audit these.The end result,the loss owing to frauds in these audited Govt.funded constructions has reached upwards of US $ 4 Trillion a year in 2008 according to Transparency International.This, in theory is an avoidable loss as auditing is done for that purpose. GOPAC suggested in 2015 (GOPAC Position Paper – Volume 1, Issue 7-April 2015) to have a Technical Audit (with a Pool of Technical Auditors with a union) in addition to the present Financial. There is no Masters Course on Construction Auditing for construction professionals to create that Pool and implement the suggestion.
There is a requirement of around 500,000 such Technical Auditors per year as US $ 12 Trillion worth of Government funded constructions to be audited.This is ideal for Female construction professionals.
